My Bio
Some of you may wonder how I wound up with the name "Piranhahaha."
Once I made the transition from the old Sucks board, where I had the nic "IvyGold," I kept it for Survivor season 3 Africa, for old times' sake.
Ivy Gold by the way, is a now-rare automobile paint used in the late 60's by Ford. At the time I created the nic on old Sucks, I was restoring an old Mustang.
I then decided to start creating a new nic for each new season.
S4 Marquesas I used "Komodo," because Komodo Dragons -- the world's largest lizard, and lethal to humans -- populate the Marquesas and I hoped a Survivor contestant would encounter one and suffer the consequences of mediawhoredom.
S5 Thailand I used "SinghaIsGoodForYou," which was a play on beers. Ireland's black ale Guinness used to have an advertising campaign in the interwar period proclaiming that "Guinness is Good For You!" (It's not -- but it is certainly fun to verify this.) I swapped out Guinness with Thailand's national beer, Singha, and wham! a lameass nic is born.
S6 Amazon realizing what a lameass nic I'd used for Thailand, I thought deep and hard about the salient characteristics of the Amazon. Piranha kept winning. I netscaped "laughing piranha" and found my avi from a now-extinct U.K. band called "The Smiling Piranhas."
Figuring that they were basically ska's answer to Spinal Tap, I swiped their logo, tacked "haha" to the end of the fish's name, and hoped somebody would recognize my brilliant, irrevevent use of the English language.
This never happened.
S7 Exile Island/The Pearls. The best I could do was "Pearl Necklace," but somebody got it before me. I was too busy and Piranhahaha bled into that crap season....
and here we are.
